Blessed be they
Who entertain others –
They make up friendships
That take them together.
But blessed is he
Who just has himself –
At least he has someone,
If nobody else.
And then, there are those
Who have not themselves –
Alone, on their own,
There’s no one at home.
God help please these others
With whom no one bothers,
For their lot is sadder,
Lonely and harder.
Blessed these three types
Forever a-tethered;
Whether in feather,
Separate,
Or severed,
Once never!
However,
If ever together:
Brothers,
Though others,
Forever engendered.
