iris-eyed p’ups

….
ah silly Croci

‘tis you I espy
on a corner
somewhere

near a tree
under sky

how much more
of this winter

the cold
to defy?

purple-plush petals
stand firm

deny

the cold
in the air

the winter’s
cold glare

~
there must be
some mix up

it’s too soon
to show up

single eye
to sky
an eye
meets an eye

the iris-eyed p’up’s
to that of the sun up’s

but why

are you here
in the chill
of the air?

too early
for Croci
to come up

~
it’s here
where I ask
under sun
where you bask

where softly
and quietly

hear

“s’up?”
….
