No One Reads Poetry

~

No one reads poetry,

lest the poet be dead.

~

Somewhere or someplace,

I heard that once said.

~

This poem’s a short one.

~

It’s not very long.

~

By the time you are here,

it’s done!

~

And I’m gone.

  1. Well, I read your poem
    and you are not dead
    so it disproves your theory
so, just put it to bed.

    Keep writing your poems
    be they long or short
and when asked why you write them
just give a smile and a snort.
