~
A sparkling diamond,
a gem in the rough,
how do you like this new crown?
~
I stand at the top of Victoria’s peak
where darkness surrounds in the round.
Is it the shadow of your bright shining glimmer,
or that of the Sun that’s gone down?
~
All that does matter of the whole China Sea
are your bright lights which glitter to me.
~
A gentle ruse?
A genuine pearl?
Do you own all this small but significant world?
~
Hong Kong sits in her majesty
out of the whole China Sea.
The hustle and bustle of the business hour
transforms thee from glamour to power.
~
Of all of the cities round the deep China Sea,
Hong Kong’s the flower to be.
~
This darkling siren,
alone on an island,
still the gem of the cold China Sea.
