~
Aloha Lou, what will you do
on Hotel Street today,
~
but change your clothes
and drag yourself
on stage for a great display.
~
All the men seated,
and formally feted,
wearing their blue, brown and gray.
~
While you, Lou, will sell
your soul and yourself,
as your youth slips silent away.
~
One day will come,
when all of the fun
of the young
will not be as gay.
~
But until that time, then,
turn those heads of the men,
while daylight still shines for a day.
~
And what will you do, Lou,
to buy time away?
~
For beauty won’t last,
it fades pretty fast,
especially, if that’s all you do.
