In’Her’itance & ‘His’tory

The mother of someone

  was onetime a flame.

The father, a cowboy

  seeking his fame.

And someone will grow up

  to do the same thing.

She might say,

  “I’ll throw up!”

Exclaim his disclaim.

Yet, that’s how it ends up:

  Familiar the ring,

When someone then takes up

  the same thing again.

Lest ye become

that which avers thee.
