Winter Comes as Winter will,
when Autumn Leaves have fallen;

and little Lads will stand quite still,
to wait, while Winter’s Stalling;

for cold, cold Snow, the air to chill,
to fill their care, Snow-balling.

But, Winter comes when Winter will;
while waiting be appalling.

Then, Winter’s done; somewhere April,
when Autumn Leaves come calling;

and little Lads forget the thrill,
until the leaves start falling.
