The Darkest Hour

the final hour     is   the   longest

all that came     from heretofore

cast away

no more         no more.

the darkest hour     is the last

no need    no more

no more          no more

so this is it     for all that was
for all that was
and it all comes down     to this

  1. I really like this. I’m really into poetry that is expressed by other means than mere words alone can convey, space, form and structure all play into this idea. Great job here. Thanks

  2. There’s something about a clock isn’t there–the passage of time, too slow sometimes. Counting the minutes, waiting for something to change. A well-expressed piece. Thanks for sharing.

  3. In the cold light of day, yep, it all comes down to this and that longest hour.

Great expression in few words in a form that is well matched to that tick tock.
