The Dark of the Night

~

I reached for the paper.

I’ve nothing to write!

it’s still, in the dark of the night.

~

I sit facing neighbor,

but there isn’t a light.

Something just doesn’t seem right.

~

I needed some paper.

I needed to write.

No paper.  No light.  No sight.

~

I grab for some paper

in the dark of the night

to correct the improper not right.

~

A sudden reaction.

Habitual action.

An impression turns to insight.

~

This thinking aloud,

in such silent sound,

bestirs the still of the night.

~

A simple reaction

and sudden inaction,

turns to make the mind right.

~

Renaming the new.

Naming anew.

Insight, in the dark of the night.
