On Father’s Day
I went to Lake Orange
and caught all the fish that I may.
I would have got more,
but I caught what I could,
and learned of the diff’rence
twixt a can and the should.
On Father’s Day,
I spent at Lake Orange
and caught all the fish that got away.
I should have got more,
and probably would,
had I did, but I didn’t,
and still, the day was good.
Down at Lake Orange
on Father’s Day,
no fish, for me, isn’t strange.
I went with my son,
which was just as much fun –
a son and his father,
a vegetarian;
which, for the fish, a day even better.
